BOSTON – The Heritage Day of Portugal ceremony at the Massachusetts State House will have a double significance this year as it also marks its 40th anniversary.

The ceremony, organized by the Portuguese-American Legislative Council (PALC) in Massachusetts, will take place on Tuesday, June 11, at 10:30 a.m. in the Chamber of the House of Representatives.

Pedro Nascimento Cabral, Mayor of Ponta Delgada in the Azores, will be the guest of honour and keynote speaker.

“Portuguese Heritage Day is an opportunity to celebrate our heritage and the contributions of Portuguese-speaking communities in Massachusetts,” said Rep. António FD Cabral, co-chair of the Portuguese-American Legislative Committee. “It is incredible that we have been able to honor Portuguese-speaking leaders for 40 years. It is an honor to celebrate our heritage by recognizing the contributions of each honoree and to welcome Mayor Pedro Nascimento Cabral.”
