This past weekend, there was a lot of activity on the Virginia Tech campus regarding football coach Brent Pry’s recruiting. He added several recruits for future classes and even received a commitment for the Class of 2025 when Sheldon Robinson committed, giving the Hokies five in-state recruits in this class so far.

Several other recruits in that class were on campus this past weekend, and one of them talked about his journey and what the coaching staff told him ahead of a summer when he will soon have to make a commitment.

One of the recruits on campus this weekend was a three-star player from Virginia that the Hokies coaching staff favors. Terrance Edwards, a Richmond, Virginia native and standout at Trinity Episcopal School, spoke about what some of the coaches said to him during his visit.

“(Head coach Brent Pry) met with me and my family, as well as Mines, Cheetah and Marve. They told me that I am their priority and that they are there for me whenever I am ready. They told me that VT is a home for me and my family.”

It is not surprising that Virginia Tech is one of the frontrunners for Edwards, as they are building a very good class on the defensive side of the ball so far after Robinson committed over the weekend. As for Edwards, he had an official visit to Michigan State scheduled for June 14 and then announced his decision on June 22, but he canceled his visit and will now make his decision this SaturdayHe is believed to be choosing between Virginia Tech and West Virginia.

According to 247Sports’ Crystal Ball Prediction, Virginia Tech is expected to receive a commitment in more than two weeks from Edwards, who is Virginia’s 16th-ranked player in the class of 2025. Edwards told 247Sports’ Evan Watkins that the Hokies “are well positioned and he can see himself playing there,” which would be a huge boost for Pry and his defensive staff.
