Is Ted Lasso coming back? Many viewers have been asking themselves this question.

Now, according to a new interview with a TV executive responsible for the series’ production, there is new hope. Not only is a fourth season of Ted Lasso planned, but there are also chances of a spin-off.

Ted Lasso Season 4 or Spin-off: Both are possible

Channing Dungey, Chairman and CEO of Warner Bros Television Group, was interviewed on a Deadline panel on Monday:

Dungey said Apple would like to see more of Ted Lasso, whether it’s a fourth season or a spin-off set in the Ted Lasso universe.

“We’ve talked about all of that. I think Jason Sudeikis is open to the idea, but I think he wants to have the right idea, and I appreciate that. We at Warner Bros appreciate that, Apple appreciates that, because it’s the kind of thing where you don’t want to make more just to have more, you want to make more because you actually have something to say, have a story you want to tell. We’ll see what happens,” she added.

Although Ted Lasso is an Apple TV+ Original, it was produced by Warner Bros Television Group, not Apple. The show is a collaboration between the two companies, meaning Dungey is someone who knows exactly what’s going on with Ted Lasso.

New hope for a better future

By the end of the third season, there was general agreement that the series would likely end there, largely due to Jason Sudeikis’ creative decision.

Now, however, it sounds like the man behind Ted Lasso himself is re-evaluating the options for the future of the series, be it a fourth season or a spin-off – or both.

Combined with the recent hint from series star Nick Mohammed, the prospects for more Ted Lasso are good.
