BFD Burn Foundation, car enthusiasts work together for a good cause Marquette community members “show what they can do” to raise money for women’s center

Larry Wendell Cole Sr., 83, passed away on Sunday, June 2, 2024. Larry was born on August 13, 1940 in Alma, Georgia, to the late Norman and Eula Cole. A luncheon for friends and family to celebrate the life and marriage of Larry and Kitty will be held on Thursday, June 6, 2024, at 12:30 p.m. at the Gillionville Baptist Church, 4614 Gillionville Road, Albany, Georgia.

After graduating from Georgia Southern, he worked as a job placement officer at the Marine Corps Logistics Base and retired after 30 years of loyal service. In his free time, he enjoyed gardening, taking long walks several times a week, and researching his family history. He was an avid fan of the Georgia Bulldogs and Atlanta Braves, but most enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Larry is survived by his son Dell Cole Jr. (Michelle) of Juliette, his daughter Wendy Alpert (Gary) of Woodstock, Georgia, three grandchildren: Jacie, Carter and Cason Cole, his sister Norma Mims (Mayo) of Alma, his nephew Rusty Mims and his niece Nancy Mims.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Kitty Cole, with whom he was married for 52 years, and his brother Joey Cole.
