Dr. John H. Hackett PRINCETOWN – Dr. John H. Hackett, 85, of Princetown died Friday, December 11, 2015, at Albany Medical Center. He was born in Middletown, NY, to Leo and Pauline (Welsh) Hackett. John served his country in the U.S. Navy. He was a graduate of Union College and Palmer Chiropractic College. Dr. Hackett operated a chiropractic practice in the Schenectady and Saratoga communities for 56 years. He was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Schenectady. John was an avid carpenter and gardener. John was also a member of the Rotterdam Elks. The family would like to thank the staff at Ellis Hospital and Albany Medical Center for their excellent care of John. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three brothers, Leo Hackett, Thomas Hackett and Michael Hackett, and a sister, Barbara Pellegrini. John leaves behind his beloved wife Lorraine (Erickson) Hackett whom he married July 18, 1971; three sons, David Hackett of Albany, Paul Hackett of Albany and Mark Hackett of Seattle, WA; a brother, William Hackett (Callie) of North Carolina; a sister, Patricia Germer of Rotterdam; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church 1911 Fairview Avenue Schenectady. Relatives and friends are cordially invited. There will be no visiting hours by request. Urn interment with full military honors will follow the funeral service at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dr.’s name.
