NASCAR comes to California’s wine country for a Sunday drive at the Sonoma Raceway.

The Sonoma race track recently underwent a major resurfacing ahead of the 2024 race – the first in over 23 years. Over the course of two months, the track was sanded, cracks repaired, and new, durable asphalt was applied to the race track.

One driver who has really thrived on the old surface is defending champion Martin Truex Jr. The Joe Gibbs Racing star leads all active drivers with four Cup Series victories at Sonoma and has won three of the last five races on the Northern California road course.

While Truex currently sits fourth in the points standings, the 2017 Cup Series champion is still waiting for his first win of the 2024 season.
