A 15-acre fire near Rawson Road in Tehama County reportedly destroyed a building late Monday morning.

According to the Watch Duty app, the fire was originally reported around 11:05 a.m. on Monday. The area is said to be 1.6 to 2.2 hectares and threatens several buildings.

About 10 minutes later, a Cal Fire helicopter reported the fire was 3.5 to 4 acres in size, with one building fully engulfed and others threatened. It is unclear if the building was a residence or another outbuilding.

By 11:30 a.m. the fire had stopped spreading and by Monday afternoon it was 50 percent contained.

There were no reports of injuries and attempts to contact Cal-Fire for further information by press time were unsuccessful.
