The Ohio State Highway Patrol issued a ticket to Adams, 60, of Pike Township, for a May 4 crash on the Interstate 77 overpass at Faircrest Street SW.

The westbound tanker truck was investigating a fire at PSC Metals in Canton Township when it struck the tractor-trailer, which was turning left onto Faircrest Road from the southbound I-77 exit ramp.

Adams had previously told the Canton Repository that traffic at the intersection had come to a stop and the semi-trailer pulled in front of him as the fire truck approached the intersection.

The fire department’s tanker truck from 1998 was a total loss.
