All-Washington County First Team

Ryder Johnston, North Hagerstown

Sportsman of the year

Johnston, a senior, was the district leader in the 300m hurdles (38.97) and long jump (21-3) and placed second in the 110m hurdles (15.12). He was also the lock on the Hubs’ 4×400 relay team that set a district record (3:24.99) at the state championships. He won district titles in the 300m hurdles and long jump, CMC Large School titles in the 300m hurdles and 4×400, and placed fourth in the 300m hurdles in Class 3A at the state championships.

Deontae Blake, South Hagerstown

Blake, a senior, finished second in the Athlete of the Year voting. He led the county in the 200m dash (22.25) and 400m dash (50.30), finished second in the 100m dash (11.11) and was the anchor runner on the Rebels’ nation-leading 4×200 relay team. He won county titles in the 200m and 400m dash and 3A West titles in the 400m and 4x100m dash.

Nick Cullember, Clear Spring

Cullember, a junior, was the county’s top athlete in both the shot put (45-7 3/4) and discus (145-6). He won the county and CMC Small School titles in the discus.

Odin Desir, North Hagerstown

Desir, a senior, was the county’s best runner in the 100m (11.03) and took second place in the 200m (22.35). He won the state title in the 100m.

Jacob Faith, Clear Source

Faith, a junior, was the county’s top runner in the high jump (6-6), took second in the long jump (21-0) and third in the triple jump (42-1 1/2). He won the county, CMC Small School and 1A West titles in the high jump and placed fourth in 1A at states.

John Flint, Smithsburg

Flint, a senior, was the county’s top pole vaulter (11-7) and won the county title.

Bradley Helman, North Hagerstown

Helman, a junior, won the district title in the 3,200-meter run and placed second in that event (9:56.01).

Waylon Leach, Hancock

Leach, a senior, won the district title in the shot put. He placed second in the district in the shot put (45-4 1/2) and fourth in the discus (122-10).

Walker Mason, North Hagerstown

Mason, a sophomore, was the county’s top runner in the 1,600m (4:29.02) and 3,200m (9:37.32). He was the state champion in the 1,600m.

Wisdom Moses, South Hagerstown

Moses, a senior, placed first in the county in the triple jump (43-5 1/2) and third in the long jump (20-9 1/4). He won the county title in the triple jump.

Adam Mustafa, North Hagerstown

Mustafa, a senior, won the district title in the 800-meter run and was among the Hubs’ top-ranked 4×800-meter runners, placing second in the 800-meter run (2:02.08) and third in the 1,600-meter run (4:40.23).

Jack Rhodes, South Hagerstown

Rhodes, a junior, placed second in the county in the discus (133-11) and fourth in the shot put (42-4). In 3A West, he placed second in the discus and third in the shot put.

Richard Sanon, Williamsport

Sanon, a junior, was the county’s top runner in the 110-meter hurdles (14.76), finished second in the 300-meter hurdles (41.72) and was part of the Wildcats’ top-ranked 4×100-meter relay team. He won the county, CMC Small School and 2A West titles in the 110-meter hurdles before taking bronze in 2A at the state championships.

Ah’Ryan White, Smithsburg

White, a senior, placed second in the county in the 400-meter dash (52.11) and third in the 200-meter dash (22.74) and 300-meter hurdles (42.54). He won the CMC Small School title in the 400-meter dash.

Tyler Younker, Smithsburg

Younker, a junior, was the county’s top runner in the 800-meter run (2:00.13) and placed fifth in Class 1A at the state championships in that event. He was also a member of the Leopards’ 4×400 relay team that won the CMC Small School title.
